War Service Memorial
We are proud to unveil a beautiful new addition to the hall: a traditional-style memorial honouring our service people.
After a lengthy process, the association is pleased to dedicate this meaningful tribute. Crafted from a locally sourced granite boulder with a polished face, the memorial features a military symbol and inscription. The base tier is etched with the words "Place of Healing," a thoughtful contribution from the community consultation with local Indigenous elders, adding a special touch to the project.
The memorial stands proudly in the garden, flanked by two soldiers, with lights set to illuminate the area during special events. The Lower Kalgan Community Association extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone in the community who contributed to this project, as well as to Albany Monumental Masons and Tanglewood Landscaping Services for their time, expertise, and unwavering dedication in bringing this vision to life. Our appreciation also goes to the Department of Veterans' Affairs for their generous financial support.
